Dunbar is the eastern most of the Burghs of East Lothian. It lies on the coast at the mouth of the Firth of Forth and the fine arable lands of the Lothian plains. An area often referred to as the "Garden of Scotland".

Dunbar is renowned for its high sunshine record, rugged coastline and attractive countryside. It is easy to reach by road; situated halfway between Edinburgh and Berwick on Tweed on the main A1; makes visiting the town very accessible. The Intercity rail line between Edinburgh and London passes through the town. Edinburgh International airport at Edinburgh is just an hours' drive away.

Dunbar Harbour is an historic place to visit. The old Castle, 17th century buildings and fishing boats make a timeless historic scene.
